Those Solemn Warnings (Part 1) || Modern Service
Sermon Notes:
- Eternal Security is that work of God that guarantees the gift of God once received is possessed forever and cannot be lost.
“Nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus.” - Galatians 2:16
-Paul is warning them against trying to go back and keep the Law in order to make themselves acceptable in God’s eyes.
- Grace is not salvation; grace is the method of salvation.
- If you can fall from grace, which is not salvation, but the method of salvation, what do you fall to? You fall to works.
- There is only one way of salvation and that way is to receive the grace of God through faith in Jesus believing that His shed blood at Calvary paid the penalty for your sin.
“All who dwell on the earth will worship him [Antichrist], everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain.” - Revelation 13:8
When does a person’s name get into the Book of Life?
- Before the foundation of the world
“And those who dwell on the earth, whose name has not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will wonder when they see the beast, that he was and is not and will come.” - Revelation 17:8a
- Every verse that talks about blotting names out of the book of life is in the OT and the context is that a person’s earthly life will be taken away, not someone’s eternal salvation taken away.
